Methodology

Transparency, in full.

How we score, where our data comes from, who funds us, and what we will never do. Published here so anyone can audit us.

Our mission

zen/fair exists to give crypto-gambling players a reliable, independent reference. Reviews should describe reality, not advertising copy. Bonus codes should be tested before they are promoted. Tools should run locally so players never need to trust a third party with seeds or hashes.

We are an affiliate, not an operator. We do not process deposits. We do not hold player balances. We earn commission when players choose a partner through us.

Editorial independence

No partner can pay to influence their score, order, or featured placement. Rating deltas are published in the reviews changelog so every change is visible, dated, and attributable to a test result or publicly verifiable event.

If a partner funds a community giveaway or boosts a leaderboard slot, the placement is labeled and never affects the trust score.

Affiliate disclosure

Every outbound link to a partner casino is an affiliate link. A qualifying sign-up or wager returns commission to the community pool. That pool funds leaderboard prizes, milestone payouts, lossback returns, and event costs.

Commission is disclosed line by line in the monthly community report.

User reviews

Player reviews are verified through wager signature. To submit, a player proves recent wager activity at the partner by signing a lightweight challenge with the wallet or account that placed the bet. Unverified reviews are labeled clearly and carry a lower weight in the aggregate score.

We do not remove negative reviews on request. We do remove reviews that are factually false, contain personal attacks, or breach our community rules.

Data sources

Wager, win, and rakeback data pulled directly from operator dashboards.

On-chain RPC nodes

Ethereum, Solana, Polygon, and Bitcoin deposit and withdrawal monitoring for wallets partners publish.

How we score

Every partner is graded on ten criteria, each scored 0 through 10. The overall rating is a weighted average. No criterion is weighted by advertising spend.

01

Analytics

We track on-chain deposit and withdrawal flows where a partner publishes addresses. For off-chain partners, we rely on disclosed aggregate data.

02

Fairness and RTP

Every partner is tested against its own provably fair scheme. Published RTPs are cross-checked against 1000-spin independent trials each quarter.

03

Financial transparency

Hot wallet balances, withdrawal settlement times, and dispute outcomes are logged monthly and factored into the trust score.

04

Bonus integrity

Advertised bonus values are verified against actual balance movement. Wager requirements, max-bet caps, and game contribution are audited.

05

Customer support

Response time sampled monthly across chat, email, and Discord. Baseline expectation is sub-10-minute reply on chat.

06

Compliance

Licensing status, age verification, AML policy, self-exclusion integrations, and operating jurisdiction are tracked and re-verified twice a year.

07

Responsible gambling

Deposit limits, session limits, loss limits, reality checks, and self-exclusion flows are tested on a real account at each partner.

08

Security

TLS configuration, breach history, 2FA options, and withdrawal-address whitelisting all feed into the security sub-score.

09

Game catalog

Total count, provider diversity, and provably fair coverage. Heavy weight on in-house originals that publish their verification spec.

010

Third-party ratings

Aggregate Trustpilot, Reddit sentiment, and independent review-site scores sampled monthly. Weighted by reviewer verification.
